The Federal Government has continued to advance its diplomatic engagements as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, , formally presented Letters of Credence to newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioners designate to Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, and Egypt.
The presentation, which took place on Monday in Abuja, followed the receipt of agrément from the respective host countries, confirming their acceptance of the Nigerian envoys as official representatives. The move marks a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic presence across key regions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that out of the 69 ambassadors appointed by President , a total of 63 countries have so far granted agrément, including major partners such as India and South Africa. Many of the confirmed envoys have already departed Nigeria to assume duties in their respective countries.
This was made known in statement signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, in Abuja.
According to the Ministry, the development reflects growing international cooperation and confidence in Nigeria’s diplomatic corps, while efforts remain ongoing to secure approvals from the remaining countries.
The government expressed optimism that the outstanding agréments would be received soon, enabling the full deployment of Nigeria’s ambassadors and further consolidating bilateral relations worldwide.
