The medical bills of 11 indigent patients at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja, have received a ₦500,000 boost following an intervention by the Unicorns Club, a professional and social networking group.
The donation, made during activities marking the club’s 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), was channelled through the hospital’s indigent support initiative to assist patients facing financial difficulties in settling their medical bills.
Receiving the donation, the Team Lead of the hospital’s Indigent Patients and Welfare Unit, Erdoo Yarshi, expressed appreciation to the club, describing the intervention as timely given the continuing needs of patients who cannot afford their medical expenses.
Yarshi noted that the contribution would help address the financial challenges confronting vulnerable patients receiving care at the facility.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Unicorns Club, Anthony Attai, appreciated the hospital management and welfare team for facilitating the support process, particularly commending the unit for its transparency.
The club said the gesture reflected its commitment to promoting civic responsibility and improving community welfare through practical interventions.
