Abuja, Nigeria — The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to expand humanitarian support for vulnerable Nigerians.
Umar made the pledge while receiving a KSrelief delegation at NEMA headquarters in Abuja, emphasizing that sustained collaboration remains critical to addressing the growing needs of disaster-affected populations across the country.
She commended KSrelief for its consistent support to humanitarian interventions in Nigeria, noting that the partnership has significantly complemented the Federal Government’s efforts in providing relief to persons affected by disasters and other crises.
Speaking during the visit, KSrelief representative, Mr. Majeed Alanazi, said the delegation’s mission was to strengthen engagement with NEMA ahead of the rollout of direct food assistance to vulnerable households.
Alanazi disclosed that the initiative would involve the distribution of food baskets donated by KSrelief, targeting selected states across the country.

He also expressed appreciation to NEMA for its longstanding cooperation and logistical support, stressing KSrelief’s commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable communities.
The food distribution programme is expected to be implemented in Yobe, Benue, Kebbi, Taraba, and Anambra states, as part of ongoing efforts to alleviate hardship and support at-risk populations.
