The Federal Competition and Consumers Protection Commission on Friday sealed off the popular Sahad Stores Limited located in Area 11, Garki, Abuja.
The store was sealed off over allegations of stuck piling commodity items, extortion, lack of transparency, misleading prices, and overcharging customers amongst others.
This follows the President Bola Tinubu directed the DSS, Police and other security agencies to go after those hoarding foodstuffs across the country, in response to the current food crisis.
FCCPC Acting Executive Vice Chairman, Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, who led the operation, said the commission’s initial investigation substantiated the allegations of customer exploitation against the supermarket’s management.
Abdullahi stated that the store will remain sealed until a thorough investigation is conducted to gather additional evidence and information.
