LAGOS – Members of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) on Wednesday urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith and trust God’s purpose for their lives, irrespective of the barriers they encounter.
The exhortation was given by Mr. Debo Adesanya during the fellowship’s meeting themed “Breaking Barriers,” with the anchor scripture taken from Zechariah 4:7.
Adesanya described barriers as anything that stands between an individual and God’s purpose, noting that they could manifest as financial difficulties, career setbacks, business challenges, marital problems, childlessness, relationship issues and delayed expectations.
He urged believers not to lose hope when prayers appeared unanswered, stressing that God’s timing remained perfect. He cited the example of a couple who trusted God for the gift of a child for 39 years before receiving their miracle.
According to him, understanding God’s purpose is essential, adding that ignorance of one’s divine purpose could itself become a barrier to fulfilment.
Speaking on evangelism, Adesanya said failing to win souls for Christ was another barrier Christians should not entertain, urging members to remain committed to spreading the Gospel.
“As members of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship, our primary purpose is to bring people to God and make a positive difference in the marketplace,” he said.
He described the barrier of the mind as one of the greatest obstacles to breakthrough, saying believers must renew their minds and remain confident that God is able to do all things. Quoting Philippians 4:13, he reminded members that they could do all things through Christ who strengthens them.

Adesanya also cited Luke 18:1, encouraging Christians to pray without ceasing, remain focused on God’s purpose for their lives and trust Him for breakthroughs in every area.
The meeting ended with intensive prayers for personal breakthroughs, the salvation of souls, and the peace, unity and continued progress of Nigeria.
