Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has rolled out a large-scale humanitarian intervention, distributing over 10,000 bags of rice alongside millions of naira in cash to residents of Osun East Senatorial District, in a bid to cushion the effects of rising hunger and economic hardship.
The intervention, which covered all 10 local government areas in the Ife-Ijesa zone, targeted vulnerable populations including widows, elderly women, and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Distribution was coordinated through ward structures of the All Progressives Congress (APC), local government offices, and extended across party lines to ensure inclusivity.
Speaking during the exercise, Fadahunsi, who chairs the Senate Committee on Industries, reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, pledging to sustain such interventions throughout his tenure. He noted that the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to mitigate the impact of economic challenges on ordinary citizens.
In addition to food distribution, the senator also provided financial assistance to party members, underscoring a broader support framework for grassroots communities.

Reacting to the development, Osun APC State Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, commended the lawmaker for his dedication to constituency service, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. He urged party members and residents to support and pray for the senator’s continued success.
The initiative has been widely welcomed by beneficiaries and community leaders, who described it as a significant relief effort at a time when many households are grappling with economic strain.
