The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has lauded Nigerian-American basketball star E.J. Anosike for his historic performance in the 2026 National Basketball League (China) (NBL) season.
In a statement issued by NiDCOM’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described Anosike’s emergence as Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) as a landmark achievement, noting that he became the first player in the league’s history to secure all major individual and team honours.
Anosike’s accolades include the 2026 NBL Championship, Finals MVP (2026), Regular Season Scoring Leader (2024), Best International Player (2025), two-time All-Star (2025 and 2026), and All-Star Slam Dunk Champion (2026).
Dabiri-Erewa praised his consistency, discipline, and exceptional performance, saying his accomplishments underscore the resilience and excellence Nigerians continue to exhibit on the global stage.
