The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, has promised to establish satellite public service offices across the state’s divisions to bring government services closer to residents if elected in 2027.
Hamzat said the initiative would reduce the burden on residents, particularly those living outside Lagos metropolis, who currently travel to Alausa, the state capital, to access government services.
He made the promise on Friday during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) campaign secretariat in Badagry, where 4,120 polling unit ambassadors and 11 ward coordinators were also inaugurated.
Represented by his running mate, Ms Damilola James-Sonayon, Hamzat said the inauguration of the secretariat and ward coordinators would strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also pledged to introduce regular town hall meetings and multiple communication channels to improve engagement between government and residents, adding that government performance should be assessed across all divisions of the state.
The event, held at the RHA office on Joseph Dosu Road, Badagry, also featured the presentation of campaign vehicles to coordinators across the federation’s 11 wards.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor and RHA State Coordinator, Mr Tayo Ayinde, said the initiative was aimed at securing victory for President Bola Tinubu, Hamzat and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Ayinde listed the candidates as James-Sonayon for deputy governor, Senator Olusegun Onilude for Lagos West Senatorial District, Mr Joseph Gbenu and Mr Bankole Olatunde for Badagry Constituencies I and II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, respectively.
He commended the Badagry Local Government Coordinator of RHA, Mr Olanrewaju Layode, for donating the building for the campaign secretariat and providing vehicles for the 11 ward coordinators.
Ayinde urged the newly inaugurated coordinators, polling unit ambassadors and directors to maintain regular contact with residents and provide accurate information about the candidates and their programmes.
He described the secretariat as a coordination centre for meetings and mobilisation activities, while urging the coordinators to ensure proper maintenance and responsible use of the vehicles.
Ayinde challenged the APC mobilisation team to deliver 200,000 votes for the party in Badagry during the 2027 elections.
Earlier, the RHA Lagos Chairman and member of the Governance Advisory Council, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, welcomed participants to the inauguration.
The RHA Coordinator for Badagry Federation and Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Layode, said 10 polling unit ambassadors had been selected for each of the federation’s 412 polling units.

The inauguration was attended by the three council chairmen in Badagry Division, state and federal lawmakers, APC candidates, traditional and religious leaders, community leaders and youths.
