The House of Representatives has summoned the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, over the alleged operations of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), as lawmakers intensify efforts to verify the legitimacy of the body.
The invitation was issued by the House Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the council, following a statement by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs distancing the Federal Government from the organisation and declaring that its purported Director-General is not recognised.
Chairman of the committee, Representative Yusuf Mikhail Adamu, said the panel is determined to uncover the truth about the council’s activities and establish whether it was officially authorised to operate.
He explained that Ribadu’s appearance is expected to provide clarity on issues relating to national security implications, government approval, and the broader operations of the alleged council.

Adamu assured that the committee would conduct a thorough and transparent investigation, stressing that anyone found culpable would be held accountable in accordance with the law.
The probe comes amid growing concerns over the emergence of unauthorised bodies allegedly operating under the guise of government institutions.
