National Assembly Shift Passage of 2024 Appropriations Bill Till 1:mp on Saturday 30th of December

The National Assembly to resume plenary on the consideration and passage of the 2024 Appropriation Bill will commence by 1pm today (Saturday) after the Christmas break.

This was revealed a memo by the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Chinedu Francis Akubueze and Dr. Yahaya Danzaria Esq.
Clerk, House of Representatives on 30th December 2023.

The memos however did not stated the reasons why the plenary was shifted from 10am to 1pm on Saturday.

The memo read, “Dear Distinguished Senators.

“PLENARY SITTING TO COMMENCE AT 1PM PROMPT.

“This is to kindly inform Distinguished Senators that the plenary sitting of the Senate, scheduled for Saturday, December 30th, 2023, will hold by 1pm prompt.

“Thank you and God Bless.”

House of Rep memo reads: ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

“I am directed to inform Hon Members that today’s plenary -30th December, 2023 – has been shifted upwards from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

“This change is intended to allow for adequate quorum and the production of all plenary documents. All inconveniences are duly regretted.”

Our correspondence gathered that the two chambers of the National Assembly will consider and pass the budget today and adjourn for the New Year celebration.
