The Ijaw Nation Development Group (INDG) has congratulated an Ijaw leader, Mr Regent Youmor, on his 70th birthday, describing his life as a model of peace, service and national unity.
In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by its President, Dr Ephraim Sobere Owoh, the group said Youmor’s journey had been marked by wisdom, resilience and significant contributions to humanity.
“We heartily felicitate with Elder Regent Youmor on the remarkable occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.
“Today, we celebrate not only the gift of 70 fruitful years but also a life marked by wisdom, resilience, service and invaluable contributions to humanity.
“Reaching this significant milestone is a testament to God’s abundant grace, favour and faithfulness through the seasons of life,” the group stated.
INDG described Youmor, a Peace Ambassador and former President of the Ijaw Community in Lagos State, as a detribalised Nigerian who had consistently promoted unity and development.
The group prayed for continued strength, wisdom, good health and greater contributions from him toward the development of Ijaw land and Nigeria as a whole.
Also felicitating Youmor, a motivational speaker, Ms Alaere Kemi Levi commended his exemplary leadership and commitment to peacebuilding.
“You are a man of wisdom whose words inspire confidence and direction. You never hesitate to offer guidance with patience, maturity and genuine concern,” she said.
Levi noted that Youmor had remained steadfast in promoting peace, unity and understanding.
“In a world where many seek conflict, you have chosen the path of wisdom, humility and reconciliation,” she added.
She further praised his enduring commitment to growth and service, describing his life as a source of inspiration for younger generations.
Responding in an interview, Youmor expressed gratitude to God for attaining the milestone and called on Nigerians, particularly Ijaw youths, to embrace peace and lawful conduct.
“I advise our youths to shun violence and greed and remain law-abiding. To all Nigerians, I plead for peaceful coexistence,” he said.
Youmor, who was appointed a Peace Ambassador by the Ijaw Community in America and Europe under the Ijaw Nations Forum, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity and national development.
