Awka, — Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to adopt healthier eating habits by prioritising natural foods over highly processed alternatives to reduce the risk of lifestyle-related diseases.
Dr. Soludo made the appeal on Monday while speaking with journalists during the harvest of maize from her farm at the Government House in Awka.
She emphasised that natural foods such as local fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, roots and tubers are rich in essential nutrients required to keep the body healthy and resilient.
According to her, returning to natural diets offers multiple health benefits, including stronger immunity, improved digestion, healthy weight management and sustained energy for daily activities.
“Returning to nature is one of the greatest gifts people can give their bodies because natural foods help to strengthen immunity, improve digestion, maintain healthy body weight and provide energy for daily activities,” she said.
She further noted that choosing wholesome foods over processed options plays a crucial role in improving overall health outcomes and well-being.
Dr. Soludo stressed that healthy eating does not necessarily involve expensive meals or rigid dieting but requires consistent and informed food choices.

“Every healthy meal is an investment in a longer, stronger and happier life,” she added.
