Badagry, Lagos State — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lagos governorship aspirant, Dr Samuel Mawuyàn Ajose, on Sunday laid the foundation for the SMA Badagry Federation House in Ibereko, Badagry, as part of efforts to strengthen unity and coordination within the party.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ajose said the initiative was aimed at creating a central hub where APC members across the Badagry Division could converge to deliberate on party development and strategies.
According to him, the absence of a unified meeting point had hindered effective collaboration among party stakeholders in the area.
“When people are scattered without a place to gather, it becomes a challenge. What we are doing today is to create an infrastructure where everyone can come together and make collective decisions,” he said.
Ajose explained that upon completion, the facility would serve as the headquarters for all APC activities in the Badagry Division, fostering cohesion and enabling members to “speak with one voice.”
He disclosed that the project is expected to be completed within two months and would accommodate members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) from Badagry, as well as APC Local Government Area chairmen in the division.
The APC chieftain also used the occasion to unveil an ambitious political target of securing 3.5 million votes in Lagos State in the 2027 general elections for President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Governor Dr Kadri Hamzat.
“This target is achievable from over six million registered voters in Lagos. Badagry residents have assured us of their support, and many members of other parties are ready to decamp and vote massively for APC,” Ajose stated.
He further announced the commencement of a mass Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration drive at the site from June 10, with transportation support arranged for eligible residents.
“If you are 18 years and above, buses will be provided to bring you here for registration. Our goal remains 3.5 million votes,” he added.
In his remarks, the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, commended Ajose for his contributions to the growth of the party, noting that the project would enhance the party’s structural strength in Badagry.
Represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr Tolani Sule, Ojelabi described the initiative as a significant investment that would provide a permanent venue for party leaders to meet, resolve issues, and strategize.
He expressed optimism that the development would translate into increased electoral support for the APC in future elections.

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Badagry Division, Alhaji Abdulakeem Akewusola, led prayers for the success of President Tinubu, Dr Hamzat, and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The event was attended by traditional rulers from the three councils in Badagry, party chieftains, stakeholders, and residents from across the division.
