Makurdi, Benue State — A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nelson Ogbu, has formally declared his intention to contest the Ado State Constituency seat in the Benue State House of Assembly after picking up his nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogbu obtained the nomination form at the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi, marking a significant step in his political ambition under the ADC platform.
The event drew a large turnout of party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, particularly from Ado Local Government Area, who gathered to demonstrate their backing for his candidacy.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, Ogbu expressed gratitude to the party leadership and executive members in Ado LGA for the trust and confidence placed in him. He described his aspiration as a response to the need for effective and people-oriented representation in the constituency.

He pledged to prioritise grassroots development, inclusive governance, and youth empowerment if elected, stressing that his campaign would be anchored on delivering quality service to the people.
According to him, sustained engagement with constituents will remain central to his political approach as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
“God on our side,” Ogbu declared, reaffirming his optimism and commitment to the race.
