Abuja, Nigeria — Senator Benson Sunday Agadaga has lauded former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel, describing him as “a symbol of humility” during reflections at his 70th birthday book launch in Abuja.
Agadaga, who represents Bayelsa East Senatorial District, said working alongside Daniel in the National Assembly has been both inspiring and rewarding, noting that the celebrant’s humility stands out even among seasoned lawmakers.
“I thought I was very humble until I saw someone who was more humble than myself. He is actually a symbol of humility,” he said.
The senator also commended Daniel’s dedication to legislative duties, highlighting his active participation in oversight assignments across the Niger Delta, often involving travel to remote oil-producing communities.
“He moved with me to every nook and corner of the Niger Delta. That shows a man who is ready to serve, even at this age,” Agadaga stated.
He further praised Daniel’s cheerful personality, noting that his positive outlook contributes to his resilience.
“Laughing heals, and I know he is going to live long,” he added.
Agadaga added by wishing Daniel continued good health and more years of impactful service, while also pointing to the former governor’s reflections on his legal and political journey—particularly his experiences with the courts—as a compelling aspect of his story.
