The newly appointed Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Kamoru Ogunlana, Esq., has reaffirmed his commitment to key legislative reforms, including amendments to the National Assembly Service Act and the establishment of the National Assembly Pension Board.
These reforms aim to enhance the efficiency of the parliamentary bureaucracy and improve overall governance.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Information, Mr. Bullah Audu Bi-Allah, on behalf of the Secretary of Research and Information, Ogunlana made this commitment during his inaugural meeting with top management officials of the National Assembly.
He emphasized the need to prioritize staff welfare, recognizing its crucial role in boosting productivity. Additionally, he pledged to build on the infrastructural improvements initiated by his predecessor while addressing emerging security challenges within the Assembly.

Commending the leadership for its contributions to the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Assembly, Ogunlana called for continued collaboration to achieve the institution’s goals. He noted that the National Assembly remains the largest, busiest, and most dynamic parliament in Africa.
“The future of our institution depends on our collective commitment to progress and excellence. Together, we must uphold the ideals of professionalism, accountability, and unwavering service to the Nigerian people,” Ogunlana stated.
