Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Dr. Victor Umeh, has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, pledging sustained support through empowerment initiatives and social interventions.
Umeh gave the assurance on Monday during the second phase of his Agricultural Input Empowerment Programme held at Afor Isiagu Market Square in Isiagu, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The programme, which is being implemented across agrarian communities in the senatorial district, is designed to support active farmers with essential inputs to boost food production and ensure improved harvests.
Speaking at the event, the lawmaker said the initiative was a direct response to the prevailing economic hardship and rising hunger across the country, noting that food insecurity has contributed to increased crime and social instability.

He urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the distributed farm inputs to enhance productivity and contribute to food sufficiency in the state.
“Your welfare remains my utmost concern. This programme is part of my continuous effort to support you, improve your livelihoods, and ensure that no family goes hungry,” Umeh stated.
The senator, who was accompanied by his wife, Lady Prisca Umeh, and key stakeholders of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), also appreciated the people of Awka South for their consistent political support.
He specifically thanked constituents for their backing of the NDC presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, as well as his own mandate and that of Prof. Lilian Oby Orogbu, who represents Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Umeh further disclosed that beyond the ongoing agricultural support and the recently awarded scholarships to 332 students across Anambra Central, plans are underway for a larger empowerment programme aimed at reaching more beneficiaries.
He called for continued patience and solidarity from constituents, urging them to sustain their support for the NDC and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In their remarks, political stakeholders and leaders of the NDC in Awka South commended the senator for what they described as impactful projects in the area, including scholarship schemes, job facilitation, and empowerment initiatives.
