FarmAll Ecosystems Ltd. has unveiled an artificial intelligence-powered agricultural platform aimed at helping Nigerian farmers reduce post-harvest losses, improve farm profitability and access wider markets.
The platform, FarAI, combines digital farm management tools, agricultural advice and market-linkage services to address challenges affecting smallholder farmers, including limited access to extension services, reliable farming information and buyers.
The company announced the launch on Wednesday ahead of the 2026 World Food Day, describing FarAI as an integrated digital solution for crop farmers, livestock keepers, fish farmers and other agricultural stakeholders.
Samuel Akinyode, Founder of FarmAll Ecosystems Ltd., said the platform was designed to make agricultural knowledge and digital tools more accessible to farmers while improving their ability to make informed production and marketing decisions.
“Food security will not be solved from the top down. It will be solved in the hands of the farmer,” Akinyode said.
He explained that the platform would provide practical agricultural guidance through voice or text in English, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin, enabling farmers to access information in languages they understand.
According to the company, FarAI features tools for production planning, farm budgeting and income tracking, allowing farmers to monitor expenses, plan their activities and identify opportunities to increase earnings.
It also provides market-linkage services connecting farmers with buyers, traders, cooperatives and other off-takers through its Farmtakers, Farshare, Coohub and farmtap services.
The company said the platform’s Formulation Lab offers guidance on feed, fertiliser and pesticide formulations, while its Post-Harvest Hub helps farmers monitor spoilage, shelf life and storage requirements.
It added that the platform provides nutrition guidance linking agricultural produce with household dietary needs.
FarmAll identified post-harvest losses, inadequate agricultural extension services and weak market access as major obstacles to agricultural productivity and farmers’ incomes.
It cited estimates that Nigeria loses between 40 and 50 per cent of perishable produce after harvest, noting that the losses reduce farmers’ earnings and the volume of food available for consumption.
The company said FarAI was developed to address these challenges by bringing artificial intelligence, local agricultural knowledge and direct market connections together in one digital platform.
It added that farmers requiring specialised assistance could access verified agricultural experts for online consultations, telephone calls or farm visits.
According to FarmAll, the application was designed to operate on everyday Android phones and under low-bandwidth conditions to accommodate farmers with limited internet connectivity.
The platform is available for free download on the Google Play Store and can also be accessed through its website, www.farai.ng.
The company said its core features were free, while a low-cost Pro subscription offered access to advanced tools, including the Formulation Lab and Post-Harvest Hub.
It added that an iOS version was being planned for release on the Apple App Store.
