Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his syndicate, while also intercepting a female ammunition courier with 300 rounds of ammunition in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The arrests were carried out on September 9, 2026, as part of intensified efforts by the military to disrupt terrorist networks and cut off the movement of arms, ammunition and logistics within the Joint Operations Area.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt.-Col. Aliyu Danja, troops of Sector 1 first conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Danja said the operation resulted in the arrest of the suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at the hideout.
He added that the suspects had been taken into military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation on the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence intercepted a 50-year-old female ammunition courier in Igabi Local Government Area.
The suspect was reportedly found in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigations, according to the military, revealed that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists operating in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition have also been placed in military custody for further investigation.
Later that day, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, apprehended another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
During interrogation and a search of the suspect, troops recovered four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists.

The military said the series of operations demonstrated the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupting terrorist networks, denying criminal elements freedom of action and preventing the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across the Joint Operations Area.
The Joint Task Force also commended members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
