The Chairman of the Rivers State Teqball Association (RIVTEQ), Mr Halim Adebola Zaccah, has been inducted as a member of the Rivers State Football Referees’ Council (RSFRC).
Zaccah was formally installed on Friday, July 31, by FIFA/CAF Physical Fitness Technical Instructor, Engr Emmanuel Imiere, during the Council’s Annual Seminar and Fitness Test held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Rivers State.
The Chairman of the RSFRC, Comrade Dima Dennis Charles, said Zaccah’s induction was in recognition of his consistent contributions to the affairs and development of the Referees’ Council in the state.
He described the appointment as a reflection of Zaccah’s commitment to the growth of football and officiating in Rivers State, noting his contributions to the council over time.
The annual programme also featured a fitness test for referees, alongside technical sessions aimed at improving their knowledge and understanding of contemporary football officiating.

During the seminar, prominent referee instructors, including the Acting President of the Nigeria Football Referees’ Association (NFRA), Sir Kelechi Mejuobi, who was represented by the association’s Publicity Secretary, Chukwudi Ejimofor, as well as Coach Ere Dokubo and Engr Emmanuel Imiere, tutored the referees on recent amendments to the FIFA Laws of the Game.
The sessions were designed to ensure that referees remain abreast of the latest changes to the laws and maintain the required physical and technical standards for effective officiating.
