The Bishop of Ijesa North Diocese (Anglican Communion), Rt. Revd. Isaac Oluyamo, has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith while calling on youths to embrace mechanized agriculture and modern animal husbandry as practical solutions to unemployment and food insecurity.
Oluyamo made the call during his Presidential Address at the opening of the 3rd Session of the 5th Synod of the Diocese, held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Esa-Oke. The three-day Synod, held from June 26 to June 28, 2026, focused on the theme, “The Promises of God” (Isaiah 41:10), bringing together delegates to reflect on both spiritual and national issues.
Speaking on the reliability of divine assurance, the Bishop emphasized that God’s promises remain constant despite human limitations. “While human promises may fail, God’s Word remains unfailing, dependable, and eternally true,” he said.
Addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, Oluyamo condemned the persistent cases of kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities. He called for a combination of fervent prayers and decisive government action to safeguard lives and property across the country.
Highlighting the economic situation, the cleric identified agriculture as a critical driver of national development. He encouraged young Nigerians to shift focus from white-collar jobs and take advantage of opportunities in mechanized farming and modern livestock production to achieve self-reliance.
On governance, the Bishop commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for efforts to steer the country through current challenges. He also congratulated the government and people of Ekiti State on the successful conduct of their recent gubernatorial election.
Looking ahead, Oluyamo prayed for peaceful and credible elections in Osun State and the forthcoming 2027 general elections. He urged citizens to participate actively in the democratic process by voting according to their conscience.

It affirmed that peace, unity, and economic prosperity remain achievable if Nigerians remain committed and hopeful.
