The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Prof Muhammed Ali Pate has reaffirmed his aim to unlock Nigeria’s healthcare value chains in 2024 as inspired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
He added that the domestic manufacturing of in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs), generic pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biologics, and medical devices is critical to advancing the health and wellbeing of all Nigerians.
Pro. Pate gave this assurance through his X twitter handle, saying as part of Mr President’s aim in approving the “Unlocking Healthcare Value-Chain’ Initiative”, as part of Nigeria’s Health Sector Renewal Programme, is to optimize end-to-end R&D pathways for addressing priority diseases in Nigeria.”
Likewise, in his office today, he expressed gratitude as he received Mr Samir Machour, the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of the Bio Investment Group, and discuss collaborative efforts to deliver on the Presidential directives, through rapidly stimulating local production of in vitro diagnostics and biologics in Nigeria.
The coordinating minister commended the 𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 for the readiness to work with us, through the NIPRD2, in accelerating Nigeria’s efforts towards self-reliance in the medium to longer term.
He added that we fully acknowledge the current tough economic and business environment, we are confident that the dark clouds will abate and Nigeria shall emerge as envisioned in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
