Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged Muslim faithful across Nigeria to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for enduring peace, national unity, and accelerated national development.
The governor made the call in his goodwill message to the Muslim Ummah in Anambra State and the country at large, describing the festival as one of profound spiritual significance. The message was conveyed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Awka by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime.
Soludo noted that Eid-el-Kabir embodies the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the will of God and the common good. He encouraged citizens to reflect these values by promoting acts of charity, mutual tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the safety and well-being of residents, the governor assured that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure a peaceful celebration during the festive period and beyond.
He further extended his best wishes to Muslim faithful, praying that the blessings of the season would bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to every home.

In a similar message, the wife of the governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, also felicitated with Muslims on the occasion, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration. She highlighted the festival’s emphasis on faith, compassion, tolerance, and kindness, urging Nigerians to uphold these values in building a more united and harmonious society.
Dr. Soludo also prayed that the Eid-el-Kabir season would usher in abundant blessings for Muslim families in Anambra State and across the country.
