Lokoja, Kogi State — A father of newly born triplets in Lokoja, Kogi State, Mallam Suleiman Idris, has appealed to the government and kind-hearted Nigerians for financial assistance to help him care for his growing family amid the country’s prevailing economic hardship.
Idris, a phone repairer based in the Serikinuma area of Lokoja Local Government Area, made the appeal following the birth of his wife’s triplets at MOM’s Orphanage in Crusher Community, Lokoja. He described the arrival of the babies as a blessing from Almighty Allah but expressed concern over his limited means to adequately provide for their needs.
In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, Idris, who hails from Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi Central, said the current economic realities have made it difficult for ordinary citizens to cope, especially those with sudden increases in family responsibilities.
He called on philanthropists, religious organisations, and well-meaning individuals within Nigeria and in the diaspora to come to his aid. Idris also urged families praying for the fruit of the womb to remember his household in their prayers and extend any form of support they can.
While confirming that both the mother and the newborns are in good health, Idris appealed to the Kogi State Government and relevant local government authorities to show interest in the welfare of his family.

It was gathered that the birth of triplets is not unprecedented at MOM’s Orphanage. However, efforts to reach the Managing Director of the facility for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
