……….Disregard any kind of solicitation from any number claiming to be the Senator
The attention of Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi (APC, Ogun West) has been drawn to numerous requests for financial transfers to various accounts, allegedly from one of his telephone lines that has been compromised by cybercriminals.
This is according to a statement signed by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Adeola, over the weekend.
Members of the general public, friends, family members, and associates are advised to completely disregard such solicitations as they do not originate from the Senator.
The incident has been reported to relevant security agencies, and efforts are underway to track down the individuals behind the hacking and fraudulent messages, as well as the bank accounts used by these scammers.
Senator Adeola emphasizes that he will never request any individual to transfer money to any account on his behalf to resolve an emergency or urgent issue.
