The Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) Resource Centre is set to launch the fifth edition of its Leadership Approval Rating (LAR) report, titled “Voices for Justice: A Civic Lens on Nigeria’s Judicial System – Documenting Public Experiences, Opinions & Reform Demands.”
The report critically examines public perception of the judiciary’s performance, integrity, and the urgent need for reforms.
This new volume shines a spotlight on the judiciary’s role as a cornerstone of democratic governance and a guardian of citizens’ rights. Drawing from independent surveys and thorough analysis, the report captures public sentiment, highlights systemic gaps, and offers actionable recommendations to restore public trust in the justice system.
In a statement signed by HEDA’s Chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, the civil society organization emphasized that the report delivers a timely, in-depth reflection of the judiciary’s challenges and strengths. Suraju noted that although the judiciary remains the final arbiter of justice, rising concerns over corruption and lack of accountability have triggered pressing national conversations.
“This publication is a call to action for collective efforts to address issues within the judiciary and restore public confidence. It represents our commitment to amplifying the voices of Nigerians and driving meaningful reforms,” Suraju said.
