The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Environment, Hon. Terseer Ugbor, has been honoured with the 2025 Industry Enabler Award by the Recyclers Association of Nigeria in recognition of his contributions to advancing Nigeria’s recycling sector.
The award was presented during the Association’s 2026 Professional Conference held on April 30, 2026, at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Recycling and Economic Development Initiative of Nigeria, Fyneray Mbata, and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the award recognises Ugbor’s outstanding leadership and commitment, which have significantly contributed to the growth and development of the recycling industry in Nigeria.
It noted that his efforts in promoting sustainable environmental practices, as well as his support for policies that encourage recycling, have positioned him as a key enabler within the sector.

Hon. Ugbor, who was not physically present at the ceremony, was represented by Mbata, who received the award on his behalf.
The recognition underscores the growing importance of leadership, collaboration and innovation in driving Nigeria’s transition towards a circular economy and a cleaner environment.
