Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded significant operational gains across the theatre, including the foiling of a major terrorist attack, arrest of suspected collaborators, rescue of kidnapped victims, and the surrender of a terrorist associate.
In a major breakthrough, troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Gajibo successfully repelled a coordinated attack by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists who advanced on motorcycles from multiple directions with support weapons.
The attackers were detected early, prompting a swift and decisive response by troops who engaged them with heavy firepower, including mortar bombardments. The terrorists were forced to retreat in disarray, abandoning ammunition and other combat accessories later recovered during follow-up operations. No casualties were recorded among the troops.
In a related development, troops in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) operatives arrested two suspected Boko Haram collaborators in Gubio town. The suspects, identified as cattle rearers, are currently in custody and undergoing investigation.
According to a press statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, troops also acted on credible intelligence from a surrendered terrorist associate to arrest a suspected logistics supplier, Umar Ahmadu, in Gwoza. The suspect reportedly confessed to supplying materials to terrorists on several occasions and is currently being interrogated.
Earlier, a 17-year-old relative of a terrorist surrendered to troops along the Gwoza–Limankara axis after escaping from a terrorist enclave in the Mandara Mountains. Preliminary findings indicate that sustained military pressure and worsening living conditions within the enclave compelled his surrender.
Further demonstrating operational effectiveness, troops intercepted and rescued two male victims kidnapped from Mafa town. The victims, who escaped captivity under low visibility conditions, have been handed over for medical evaluation and further necessary action.

The coordinated operations underscore the sustained pressure being mounted on terrorist elements, targeting their mobility, logistics networks, and support systems. Troops remain on high alert and maintain an aggressive posture to neutralize threats across the theatre.
The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing operations aimed at defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace, security, and economic stability in the North East region.
