Flybird Group has announced plans to unveil advanced drone technologies and expand into offshore aviation services, positioning itself as a key player in Africa’s energy logistics space.
The company’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) division will present its integrated aviation solutions at the 25th Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week Conference and Exhibition, scheduled to hold from July 5 to 9 in Abuja.
Chief Executive Officer of Flybird RPAS, Mrs Chanel Scott, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, describing the exhibition as a major milestone in the group’s strategic expansion across the aviation and energy sectors.
Scott said the company aims to meet the growing demand for unmanned aviation technologies in the energy industry, noting that such innovations are increasingly essential for improving safety, operational efficiency, and asset integrity.
She explained that Flybird RPAS would deliver intelligent aerial solutions for oil and gas operations, infrastructure monitoring, and other critical sectors.
The CEO further revealed that the company would engage stakeholders on its planned entry into offshore helicopter services, which will include personnel transportation, logistics support, emergency response, aerial surveillance, and specialised aviation services for offshore operators across West Africa.
According to her, this expansion complements Flybird Group’s existing portfolio, which spans aircraft management, business aviation, RPAS operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and aviation advisory services.
“Drone technology has become an operational necessity for organisations seeking safer, smarter and more cost-effective operations,” Scott said.
“NOG Energy Week provides an excellent platform to showcase our capabilities, build strategic partnerships and demonstrate that indigenous companies can deliver world-class aviation technology solutions that meet international standards.”
Also speaking, Group Head of Corporate Services, Dr Tracy Wilson, said the event would offer an opportunity to strengthen stakeholder relationships and showcase the company’s expanding aviation portfolio.
