An All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, Mopamuro Progressive Women (MPW), has called on the party’s national leadership to investigate allegations that the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State is mobilising support for the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The group also urged the APC leadership to caution Hon. James Abiodun Faleke over his alleged involvement in activities it claimed could undermine the party’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Coordinator of MPW, Mrs Funmilola Zaccheaus, made the call in a press statement, alleging that the TSG was using President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name to conceal its purported support for the ADC’s presidential candidate.
According to the group, the alleged activities were inconsistent with the TSG’s public identification with the President’s political interests.
MPW further claimed that the group was receiving backing from Faleke, although it did not provide evidence to substantiate the allegation in the statement.
“Our attention has been drawn to the nefarious activities of an organisation known as the Tinubu Support Group in Mopamuro, which is allegedly using the name of the President to conceal its intention of mobilising support for the ADC,” the statement said.
The group also expressed concern over what it described as alleged moves to mobilise support for an Atiku Abubakar presidency, arguing that such activities contradicted the TSG’s public association with Tinubu.
MPW urged APC members in Mopamuro to remain vigilant and avoid being misled by individuals or groups whose activities, it alleged, could work against the party’s interests.
It called on the party’s national leadership to intervene and address the allegations, stressing the need to protect grassroots mobilisation efforts across Kogi State.
“We call on the national leadership of our party to call Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to order to prevent any disruption of the grassroots mobilisation efforts being undertaken by party leaders in Kogi State to secure a landslide victory for Mr President,” the statement added.
The women’s group reaffirmed its support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, pledging to intensify grassroots engagement and mobilisation across Mopamuro Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
MPW said it would continue to engage women, families and community members to promote the President’s policies and achievements as part of its efforts to secure support for his re-election.
“We want to assure Mr President that Mopamuro Progressive Women stands firmly behind his leadership and will work tirelessly to mobilise women, families and grassroots supporters across Mopamuro for his second-term victory,” the statement said.

The group added that it remained committed to taking the message of the administration to communities across the local government area.
The allegations against Faleke and the Tinubu Support Group were contained in MPW’s statement. The statement did not include responses from Faleke or the TSG to the claims.
