Senate President Godswill Akpabio issued a formal apology to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan during the parliamentary session held on Tuesday.
Akpabio clarified that his prior remarks, which were perceived as disrespectful and biased towards gender, were misconstrued and not meant to degrade or diminish Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
“I extend my sincere apologies to my esteemed colleague, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, for any offense or misinterpretation that may have arisen from my previous statements,” Akpabio expressed.
“In my capacity as the Senate President, I hold in high regard and appreciate the contributions of all senators, irrespective of gender or background.”
