The Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako has urged the media to collaborate with the ministry in enhancing public awareness regarding energy transition.
Dr. Salako made this call while receiving the Energy Transition Symposium Report and Communique from Development Agenda Magazine in Abuja.
He emphasized that the Magazine is actively promoting public awareness on energy transition within the country and encouraged other media entities to follow suit.
The Minister highlighted that a significant portion of the challenges encountered during the energy transition process stem from a lack of knowledge. He stressed the pivotal role that the media plays in educating the general populace on environmental sustainability.
In earlier remarks, the Editor-in-Chief of the Magazine, Paddy Ezeala, expressed the viewpoint that energy transition is rapidly evolving, and the imperative of educating our society on its utilization is paramount for progress.
Paddy further articulated that without addressing the issues of deforestation in our forests, energy transition alone would not yield the desired outcomes in achieving the set objectives.
