A major breakthrough has been recorded in the fight against terrorism in the North-West as troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA routed the Lakurawa terrorist group in Kebbi State, recovering heavy-calibre weapons and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The operation, which took place on June 14, 2026, in the Dogon Daji general area of Dandi Local Government Area, saw troops deploy superior firepower against the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their camp and flee.
Military authorities disclosed that a follow-up pursuit along the terrorists’ escape routes led to the recovery of significant arms, explosives, and logistics equipment left behind in the camp.
Items recovered include rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launch tubes, several RPG warheads, multiple improvised explosive devices, two motorcycles used for mobility, battery chargers, and other personal belongings.
Notably, the troops recorded zero casualties during the operation.
The Nigerian Army said the success underscores the sustained offensive against terrorist and bandit networks in the North-West, reaffirming its commitment to dismantling criminal elements and restoring security in the region.

The Army further assured that operations would continue with intensified pressure to deny terrorists freedom of action and safeguard law-abiding citizens.
