President Bola Tinubu has nominated veteran journalist Louis Odion and grassroots politician Ummusalma Isiyaku Rabiu as Executive Commissioners of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
Odion, from Edo State, will serve as Executive Commissioner, Operations, while Ummusalma, 35, from Kano State, will take on the role of Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services. Their appointments are subject to Senate confirmation in line with the FCCPC Act, 2018.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu highlighted their diverse professional backgrounds and commitment to public service.
Odion, a former Commissioner for Information in Edo State and ex-Senior Technical Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media, holds master’s degrees in Modern War Studies from the University of Buckingham, UK, and International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.
Ummusalma, founder of the Usir Foundation, has been active in promoting education, skills development, and humanitarian causes. Known for her grassroots political engagement, she has championed inclusive governance, as well as youth and women’s participation in politics.
