In a statement, the President extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Plateau State, as well as to Useni’s family, friends, military colleagues, and political associates. He acknowledged Useni’s distinguished service as a former Governor of the old Bendel State, Minister of Transport, and Quarter-Master General of the Nigerian Army.
President Tinubu praised Useni for his courage and dedication throughout his military career, noting that he inspired many young officers to uphold national interests above personal gain. He also highlighted Useni’s contributions to politics, serving as Deputy National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and later representing Plateau South Senatorial District in the Senate.
The President prayed for the peaceful repose of Useni’s soul and for God’s comfort upon his grieving family.
