The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled several high-profile members, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Austin Nwachukwu, and others, over alleged anti-party activities.
The sweeping sanctions were announced at the party’s ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, and “promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates,” according to the party.
In an official statement released across its verified social media platforms, @OfficialPDPNig described the expulsions as a “landmark move to restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
The statement added:

It further stressed that the decision “underscores the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress.”
