Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has donated an electric transformer to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra State, in a move expected to improve electricity supply to the church and neighbouring parts of Amata Clan.
The donation is expected to benefit not only the church but also residents living around the church and other parts of Amata Clan who will receive electricity from the transformer.
According to announcement made by the ATDU Media Team on Wednesday, Senator Umeh, who holds the traditional title of Nwannedinamba Adazi-Nnukwu and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), made the donation as part of efforts to support community needs and improve access to essential infrastructure.
The provision of the transformer is expected to enhance electricity supply for religious activities at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, while also extending the benefits to households and other electricity consumers within the designated areas.
Access to reliable electricity remains important for community development, supporting household activities, small businesses and social services. The transformer is therefore expected to contribute to improved living conditions for residents who will benefit from the additional electricity infrastructure.
The donation also highlights the importance of collaboration between public officeholders, religious institutions and local communities in addressing infrastructure needs at the grassroots level.
Residents and members of the church community are expected to benefit from the installation and operation of the transformer, particularly those in the surrounding areas of Amata Clan.
