The National Assembly of Nigeria has shifted the resumption of plenary from March 5 to March 10, 2026, in a move that alters the legislative calendar for both chambers.
The postponement was announced in a statement signed by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, and made available to journalists on Monday.
According to the statement, plenary will now resume on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., instead of the earlier scheduled date of Thursday, March 5.
Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members of the House of Representatives were urged to take note of the new date and adjust their schedules accordingly.
The leadership of both chambers expressed regret over any inconvenience the change may cause but did not provide specific reasons for the postponement.
The shift is expected to temporarily delay legislative deliberations and consideration of pending bills and motions until lawmakers reconvene next week.
