Nigeria and Germany have renewed their commitment to deepening and modernising their strategic partnership, with a focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, education, culture, peace and security.
The renewed commitment emerged when Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany, Amb. Ita Solomon Enang, received the Ambassador-designate of Germany to Nigeria, Mr Stefan Roessel, at the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin.
During the visit, Enang personally handed over the diplomatic visa processed by the Nigerian Mission to Roessel ahead of his assumption of duty in Abuja.
The meeting provided both diplomats an opportunity to discuss a shared vision for strengthening relations between Nigeria and Germany and exploring new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Enang encouraged the incoming German ambassador to engage widely across Nigeria and experience the country’s rich cultural diversity, economic opportunities, youthful population and growing potential.
He also urged Roessel to promote a balanced and factual understanding of Nigeria during his diplomatic assignment.
Roessel, on his part, expressed enthusiasm about his forthcoming posting to Nigeria and pledged to explore fresh opportunities for stronger cooperation between the two countries.

Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, disclosed the development in a statement on Thursday.
