Abuja, Nigeria — The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has inaugurated new executives for its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Zonal Council and Gudu Branch, with a renewed focus on financial sustainability, strategic planning, and leadership succession as critical pillars for sustained growth.

The ceremony, held on Sunday in Abuja, featured the formal unveiling and roll call of newly elected officials, alongside the administration of the oath of office—signalling the beginning of a new leadership phase within the Islamic society.
Delivering a lecture at the event, the Chief Missioner of Ansar Ud Deen Society, Abuja, Professor Musa Olaofe, underscored the importance of investment and entrepreneurship in sustaining religious organisations. He warned that overdependence on donations could hinder long-term continuity, particularly in challenging economic times.

“Investment is critical. When members are not gainfully employed, it becomes difficult for them to contribute financially. Religious organisations must therefore explore alternative revenue streams such as schools, commercial outlets, and ICT centres to sustain their activities,” he said.
Olaofe also stressed the need for deliberate succession planning, cautioning against leadership stagnation and encouraging the grooming of younger members to ensure continuity.
Commending NASFAT’s adoption of a two-year tenure, he described it as a strategic framework for effective governance.
“Within a defined tenure, leaders should set clear, measurable goals. Leadership must not be monopolised—young members should be empowered to contribute and grow within the system,” he added.
In his keynote address, NASFAT President, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Usman, described the inauguration as a significant milestone, noting the rapid expansion of the society within the FCT.
He praised members for their dedication, highlighting the establishment of new branches and developmental projects, particularly in Gudu, as evidence of collective commitment.
“The progress we have recorded within a short time is remarkable. It reflects the dedication of our members and the grace of Almighty Allah,” he said.
Usman further urged members to promote Islam through exemplary character, stressing that personal conduct remains the most effective form of religious advocacy.
“Islam is best promoted not through conflict, but through our actions and character in both public and private life,” he stated.
In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Zonal Chairman, Dr. Raji Nasir Mustapha, reflected on his tenure, citing major achievements such as the establishment of the Gudu branch, the development of a school project, and the installation of a modern ICT centre.
He disclosed that the FCT zone has grown to nine branches and one prayer group, attributing the expansion to teamwork and stakeholder support.
“As we hand over, we are confident that the incoming leadership will consolidate on these achievements and take NASFAT to greater heights,” he said.
Also speaking, the newly inaugurated Vice Chairman of NASFAT Gudu Branch, Alhaji Akonde Abiodun Tiamiyu, reaffirmed his commitment to effective service and leadership.
He called on all newly appointed officers—including those overseeing children affairs and education—to step forward and actively discharge their responsibilities.
