The search and rescue mission at the site of the collapsed two-storey building in Kubwa, located in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja, has been concluded following the successful rescue of four individuals who were trapped beneath the debris.
The collapsed structure, which was a segment of a two-storey building situated adjacent to Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dansuki Road, Phase 2, Site 2, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, tragically occurred at approximately 6:40am earlier today, Saturday, 13th July 2024.
The rescue efforts ceased around 4pm, as emergency responders meticulously cleared the fallen rubble down to ground zero to ensure that no one remained buried under the wreckage.
Among the four rescued individuals, three were promptly treated for minor injuries and subsequently discharged, while one individual continues to receive medical attention due to more severe injuries.
The rescue team, comprising personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), FCT Emergency Management Department, Fire Service, the Nigerian Police, and NSCDC, worked diligently in unison to execute the operation.
