In commemoration of the rural woman, a Non-Governmental Organization, Maden Healthcare Foundation, has acknowledges their invaluable contributions and advocates for enhanced support to empowers the rural women.
This initiative aims to ensure that they are equipped with equal opportunities and resources to not only thrive but also spearhead transformative change within their communities.
Annually, on the 15th of October marks the International Day of Rural Women which is observed globally in shedding light on the pivotal role rural women play in agriculture, food security, and rural economies worldwide.
This observance underscores their significant impact on sustaining communities, enhancing livelihoods, and driving overall development.
Dr. Eseoghene Agbatutu, the Executive Director of the Maden Healthcare Foundation, emphasized the importance of this day by highlighting the myriad challenges faced by rural women, such as limited access to education, healthcare, and essential resources.
Dr. Agbatutu urged all stakeholders, including foreign partners, government entities at all levels, political figures, and the private sector, to rally behind the rural woman and invest in unlocking their full potential. This collective effort is poised to yield positive outcomes that will reverberate within their respective communities.
“Let us unite in solidarity to uplift our rural women,” Dr. Agbatutu emphasized.
