Comrade Babalola Lukman Babalola of Emporium Reporters Online has emerged winner of the Most Outstanding Parliamentary Reporter (New Media) category of the HallowMace National Legislative Awards 2026, in recognition of his sustained excellence in covering Nigeria’s National Assembly.
Babalola, a member of the National Assembly New Media Forum and publisher of Emporium Reporters Online, Emporium Magazine, and Emporium Online TV, was honoured for his consistent and in-depth parliamentary reporting. His recognition places him among leading journalists acknowledged for shaping legislative coverage in Nigeria.
Also recognised in the parliamentary reporting category were Oyediya Agwu Nancy Urum of AIT for Senate coverage and Joke Adisa of TVC for House of Representatives reporting, highlighting outstanding contributions across broadcast media alongside Babalola’s achievement in new media.
The HallowMace National Legislative Awards, organised by HallowMace Africa, celebrate individuals and institutions demonstrating excellence in legislative reporting, governance, and public accountability. The 2026 edition of the ceremony is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, July 9, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre & Suites, Jahi District, Abuja.
Former President of the Senate (Third Republic), Ameh Ebute, is expected to chair the event, which will also feature recognition of lawmakers across the Senate and House of Representatives, Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, parliamentary staff, and legislative aides.
Among lawmakers listed for recognition are Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Adams Oshiomhole, and Opeyemi Bamidele, as well as House of Representatives members including Chike Okafor and Bamidele Salam. Speakers from Anambra, Delta, Oyo, Niger, Bauchi, and Jigawa State Houses of Assembly are also among awardees.

The awards, organised in collaboration with the International Goodwill Ambassador Club, ERGAF Africa, and the Isabella Ayuk Foundation, are aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and performance-driven recognition within Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
Organisers described the initiative as a “national audit of performance,” designed to encourage excellence in governance and strengthen legislative engagement across the country.
