President Tinubu Nominates New Chairman, Executive Directors for South East Development Commission

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has updated his list of nominees for the South East Development Commission (SEDC) board, introducing significant changes to strengthen the team.

In the revised list, Dr. Emeka Nworgu has been appointed as the new Chairman, replacing Hon. Emeka Atuma.

The President also replaced all three previously nominated executive directors and added two new executive director positions, bringing fresh expertise to the board.

Hon. Mark C. Okoye retains his position as the Commission’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, while Donatus Eyinnah Nwankpa has been removed from the board. The new appointments bring the total board members to 16, one more than the initial composition.

Key changes include:

Executive Director (Finance): Stanley Ohajuruka, replacing Anthony Ugbo.

Executive Director (Projects): Toby Okechukwu, replacing Obinna Obiekweihe.

Executive Director (Corporate Services): Chief Sylvester Okonkwo, replacing Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja.

Executive Directors (Without Portfolio): Chidi Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede (newly added roles).

Barr. Ifeanyi Agwu

Hamma Adama Ali Kumo

Edward David Onoja

All nominations are subject to Senate confirmation.
