ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, appointing former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary.
President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the campaign council respectively, while APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, was named Vice Chairman.
The campaign council, according to a statement released on Saturday, brings together senior party leaders, lawmakers, governors and key members of the administration ahead of the January 2027 elections.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, were appointed Deputy Directors-General for the South and North, alongside Senators Bamidele Opeyemi and Jibril Barau.
Former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, will serve as Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff was named Deputy Director-General for administration.
James Abiodun Faleke, who played a prominent role in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, was reappointed as Deputy Director-General for election planning, coordination and monitoring.
He will work with zonal directors including Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.
The council also established a legal directorate headed by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala serving as deputies. Other members include Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
For media and strategic communication, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, was named Coordinating Director alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Other members of the media directorate include Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka as coordinating deputy directors, while Segun Dada retained his role as Director of New Media.
The campaign council also appointed five spokespersons led by Dele Alake, with Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda serving alongside him.
President Tinubu, who chairs the council, urged members to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections and encouraged directorate leaders to mobilise party members who were not formally listed.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress,” the President said.
“We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians.

Tinubu also charged the campaign council to mobilise support across the country and ensure the party defeats opposition forces seeking to reverse his administration’s policies.
