The Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has hailed the state’s remarkable performance at the maiden National Teachers’ Summit in Abuja, describing it as clear evidence of the gains from sustained investment in education.
Dr Soludo congratulated Anambra following the emergence of Mr Chekwube Ifentike of Government Technical College, Onitsha, as the overall best teacher in the South-East and first runner-up at the national level, a feat that earned the state a cash prize of N25 million.
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, Dr Soludo, who is also the Founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, said Anambra stood out at the national gathering, which was organised by the Office of the Wife of the President in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education.
The summit, which ended on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja, had the theme, “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System: A National Agenda for Education Transformation and Sustainability.”
According to her, the recognition reflects deliberate planning, strong political will and a sustainable vision for education under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
“The recognition goes beyond academics and underscores the state government’s heavy investment in education as a critical driver of human capital development and the future growth of Anambra,” she said.
Dr Soludo noted that teachers in the state have been empowered like never before to excel within and outside the classroom, adding that the Soludo administration’s education-focused reforms are already yielding measurable results.

She congratulated Mr Ifentike for his brilliance, dedication and for projecting Anambra positively on the national stage.
The governor’s wife also commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education, which she said made the summit a reality and contributed to its overall success.
