FG Reduce Tariff Price for Band A consumers

The Federal Government has authorized a decrease in the electricity tariff for Band A consumers.

Band A consumers are individuals who receive a minimum of 20 hours of electricity daily.

It is worth noting that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission had recently raised the tariff for Band A customers to N225/kWh. However, with the newly approved revision, Band A consumers will now be charged N206.80/kWh.

The decision to reduce the tariff could be attributed to the public backlash against the tariff hike.

In a notice issued to its consumers on Monday, Ikeja Electric announced, “Please be advised of the decreased tariff for our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh, effective May 6, 2024, ensuring a guaranteed 20-24 hours of daily supply.

“The tariff rates for Bands B, C, D, and E will remain unchanged.”
