Abuja, Nigeria – A high-level assembly of political leaders, media professionals, and policy stakeholders is expected in Abuja as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Edo State Governor Oserheimen Osunbor headline the public presentation of “Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism.”
The book, authored by TheNewsGuru (TNG) Editor Ediri Oyibo, will be officially unveiled on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council Secretariat in Utako, Abuja.
Governor Oborevwori is billed to attend as Special Guest of Honour, while Prof. Osunbor will chair the occasion. The event underscores growing interest in the future of journalism amid rapid digital transformation.
The book will be reviewed by media expert and development advocate Lemmy Ughegbe, who is also the Founder of the Make A Difference Initiative (MADI).
Other notable dignitaries expected include Senator Ede Dafinone, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, and Senator Ned Nwoko. Also on the guest list are Hon. Benedict Etanabene and TNG Publisher Mideno Bayagbon.
Key institutional figures expected at the launch include Dili Ezughah of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Aminu Maida of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and NUJ National President Alhassan Yahya Abdul.
Beyond the unveiling, the event will feature a presentation of the author’s research findings on the state of journalism in Nigeria, with particular focus on challenges faced by journalists operating in the Federal Capital Territory.
