Bandit Attack: NEMA Deploys Emergency Team to Assess Needs, Deliver Relief in Kwara Communities
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has deployed an emergency response team to Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State following a recent bandit attack that disrupted lives and displaced residents.
Acting on the directive of the Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, the team from the Agency’s Minna Operations Office—responsible for Kwara State—has temporarily relocated to the affected areas to carry out a comprehensive on-the-ground assessment of the damage, humanitarian needs, and immediate response requirements.
The assessment is being conducted in close collaboration with the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and relevant security agencies to ensure a coordinated, intelligence-driven, and effective intervention, particularly in addressing safety concerns and preventing further humanitarian fallout.

NEMA disclosed that relief materials, including food and non-food items, have already been mobilised and positioned on the ground to provide immediate support to victims affected by the attack.
Expressing sympathy over the incident, Mrs. Umar conveyed the Agency’s heartfelt condolences to the affected communities and the Kwara State Government, assuring them of NEMA’s full support and commitment to alleviating suffering and restoring normalcy in the impacted areas.
