Dabiri-Erewa Hosts Nigerian Female Biker, UK-Based Boxer, Seeks Diaspora Collaboration for National Image, Cancer Advocacy
Abuja, Nigeria — Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering Nigerians in the diaspora who positively project the country’s image and contribute to national development, as she hosted a Nigerian female biker and a UK-based professional boxer.
Dabiri-Erewa commended Ms. Chinyenwa Judith Amadi, a Nigerian female biker, for her resilience and humanitarian drive after she successfully completed a historic power bike ride from Lagos to France and back to Nigeria to raise funds and awareness for indigent cancer patients requiring chemotherapy.
She also praised Mr. Odera Okwvosa, a United Kingdom-based professional boxer and fitness entrepreneur, for his patriotism, mentorship of young Nigerians and consistent promotion of Nigeria’s positive image abroad.
According to a press statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, mnipr, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols at NiDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa expressed pride in the achievements of both Nigerians, noting that their exploits reflect the determination and excellence of Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
She reaffirmed NiDCOM’s readiness to support and collaborate with Nigerians in the diaspora whose efforts align with national development goals, assuring both Amadi and Okwvosa of the Commission’s willingness to partner with them in their respective professional callings.
Amadi, who rode her power bike to the NiDCOM Lagos office, said she began her journey on October 8, 2025, with a target of raising ₦100 million to support cancer patients across Nigeria. Despite sustaining a finger injury in an accident in Burkina Faso that required stitches, she said she remained resolute and completed the demanding journey.
Describing the trip as physically and emotionally taxing, Amadi cited challenges including discrimination against Nigerians at West African borders, poor road infrastructure, extreme cold weather and long-distance fatigue. She noted, however, that her passion for helping cancer patients and her desire to challenge societal expectations, particularly for women from conservative backgrounds, kept her motivated.
“I come from a place where women are not expected to do much, so I decided to ride for a cause and to change that narrative,” she said.
An indigene of Owerri, Imo State, Amadi is also a yoga and fitness instructor. She encouraged young Nigerians with big dreams to take bold steps, urging them to start without procrastination and allow their goals to unfold.
In the same vein, Dabiri-Erewa also received Mr. Odera Okwvosa, a Nigerian professional boxer based in the United Kingdom, alongside his brother, Mr. Henry Okwvosa. She commended Odera for consistently projecting a positive image of Nigeria through social media and public engagements abroad.
Odera, who recently visited Nigeria during the “Detty December” festivities, said the country’s rich culture and the warmth of its people continue to draw him back home.

“What keeps bringing me back is the culture and the love I receive whenever I’m home,” he said, adding that he intends to be more actively involved in future diaspora programmes organised by NiDCOM.
Odera is a fitness entrepreneur, media influencer, author and professional sportsman, with multiple heavyweight titles to his name, including the British University Championship, two London titles, the East Midlands title and the UK National title.
